Beauty is as ....

I have faith in the world that is and hope for the world that can be. When Israel Kamakawiwo 'ole , musician and beautiful man, brought together Louis Amstrong's "What a Wonderful World" and Arlen & Harburg's "Over the Rainbow", he tenderly expressed  the essence of this particular juxtaposition of faith and hope or gratitude and dream. Though musically ungifted, I am transported by his rendition to somewhere wordless and true.

Listening to his music, hearing that voice which is so gentle but so powerful (something to bask in, a bliss) and seeing the singer himself- a very large man of surpassing delicacy , beauty and ultimately, fragility, I love the world we are part of.

I know what kind of world I want to live in and if perception can dictate form then I would like to do my best to make sure I am witnessing things which make my heart sing, which keep me believing and get me doing... what do you think?

WHO, WHAT, WHEN, WHERE, WHY AND HOW

5 Ws and an H are the foundations of any news story. I learned that in journalism school, so I guess it is best to start by establishing them:

W1- I am a human being, there's either an awful lot or not very much to say about me.

W2- I am creating this blog as a catalogue of stories from all of you. Stories about people doing good things. A record of thanks. Whatever you choose to interpret it as.

W3-right now someone, somewhere is doing something marvellous because they can.

W4-see W3

W5- Why not? As the song says "What the world needs now, is love, sweet love..." (more Ws)

H1-  send me your stories and I will post them or post about them.
